Ey Tucker, once again, your video projects completely blow my mind, they're fantastic.
Polyphony Forum was wicked and I liked everything about it.
On the first one, I'm not sure whats intentional, but I think there are a few katakana spelling mistakes.
Hmm let's see...
Animation is normally spelled アニメション　"a ni me sho n"
I'm not sure how you 'd go about spelling Polyphony Forum, but polygon is spelled with "po ri" like:　ポリゴン "po ri go n"
Although pa ri does sound more like "poly" to me so that might be okay.
phony depending on how you want it to be pronounced could be フォニ "fo ni" or ファニ "fa ni"
The katakana spelling for net forum is フォーラム "foo (fo-) ra mu"

Haha I'm taking Japanese in school, sorry if I'm coming off kinda harsh, thats not how I mean for this to sound :P

Oh no, by all means if I'm screwy on my Katakana call me on it. I've taken beginning classes, so scold me as my professor would. I need to get it right if I'm gonna survive across the ocean..

I like the colors and textures you have going on in those, but there are a few things that bother me.

-The white on the edges of the pieces looks great, but it's distracting to me that it didn't ever really make it anywhere else on the prints except for the edges. It makes it feel like you couldn't bring yourself to cover up any of the information within the calendars because it was too sacred to you or something.

-Perhaps it was intended, but the first print, if it were in grayscale, would be one giant blob of gray. There's almost no contrast in it whatsoever. The other three prints do a better job alleviating that, but I feel perhaps the first one is the most important of the series, since it informs the viewer much more of your struggle than the other ones do. (well, except for the competing english and japanese month names)

-Finally, I am really not sure if you wanted a limited value range, because I know those can be used very well, but I wonder if you wouldn't try going back in and adding some darker values. We never really get outside of a 5/6 on a 10 scale value system, and I wonder if it wouldn't improve the pieces to give them some higher contrast and some really deep values in there.

Always glad to see things from you, though, Tucker. I keep telling my brother to be on the lookout for you because you'll be making some awesome things one day.

The most glaring error I see in it is the first print versus the other three, and it makes me want to try the project again with a different medium or sorts. And yeah, I grayscaled them all too, and the first has little sharpness to it.

For some reason, I really love the way you ended that, Tucker. Fun to watch. As far as critiques go, I'd say some things, like the cityscapes, could be reworked to provide a more solid grounding. I really like the 2-bit/3D clash going on, but in terms of polish/communication of ideas a more recognizable setup might connect with an audience better.
